Ghosts or Imaginings?

Do you believe in ghosts, the supernatural, paranormal activity? Have you ever had a supernatural experience? I have.....let me share it with you.

Every year I take my girl scout troop on an overnight to a girl scout camp near us. The camp used to be a TB sanitorium and hospital for women and children in the early part of the 1900's. Before it was a hospital, it was a private home and before that, so the story goes, it was a sacred Indian burial ground. The camp consists of 4 buildings and tent cabins and other outskirt buildings. We always stay in the buildings because this overnight takes place in February. I have heard the stories over the years but never experienced anything personally until a couple of years ago.

I always felt "creeped out" by the place because of all the stories told. There are many pictures of orbs, some that I have taken. Here are a few.

These I feel can always be explained away by dust on the lens, water droplets in the air, etc. But then one year we got this picture.

Pretty freaky? Well, I guess the blurriness could be caused by the girl's movements....or is it her ghost buddy??

This same year I was woken up in the middle of the night with the feeling of "something" walking on me. I liken it to my cat walking on me. This went on most of the night. I finally said, out loud, "Please leave me alone, I am very tired." And lo an behold...it stopped. Maybe I was dreaming?? I don't know.

We are going again this February...maybe something else will happen??

Do you believe??

That's spooky, but no, I don't believe. But that should come as no surprise, I don't believe in a lot of things (I'm agnostic).

What did WT say? He needs some agnostic bitters?

That is kinda spooky. Yes I believe in ghosts/spirits that are possibly earthbound. But do I believe those photos? No. I am funny huh?

Im with Kaytabug here. I also believe as I have had a few experiences myself. However, I don't believe that the pictures are real. Only because the only ones I have "seen" looked nothing like that. They were more like shadows and the majority of the time I don't see them at all, just feel them around and on a couple of occasions heard them (which I have to admit, really freaked me out).

It is all very interesting though.

I'm not sure what I believe in regard to ghosts. I recently starting watching a show called Ghost Hunters... but it gave me nightmares. I have a had several experiences that I can't explain so sometimes I wonder.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!

Yikes! Creepy!! I'm not sure what I really believe about ghosts and such, but those pics are weird!

These pictures, especially the last, are just tricks of the camera. (I'm not saying there aren't spirits and ghosts, I'm just saying there are reasonable, photographic explanations for these pictures.)

Once I took a nighttime picture down a long stone corridor that had one dim light hanging in it. (Think Oxford University-like architecture. Actually, it wasn't like Oxford, it was Oxford. Anyway ...) The exposure took 30 seconds or more. Right in the middle, someone walked into the frame, walked down the corridor for 10 or more feet, then turned and walked out. When I developed the film, there was almost no trace whatsoever of the person. It's just a matter of how much light there is and how long it takes to build up the image that you do see.

There is one camera in particular that "ghost hunters" like to use because they say this particular camera is able to catch ghosts or spirits in the act more easily than other cameras. It is the Mavica Series of cameras by Sony.

I took one home from work to catalog some renovation I had been doing on my home. The home was built in the late 1800s. Long story short there were "orbs" floating around all over the place, regardless of lighting conditions in each room. I cleaned the lens thinking it might be dust on the lens, but the orbs appeared in random spots in the images.
The house always gave me the creeps, anyway so if they really were ghosts I would not be surprised.

Obviously I believe. I've had way too many experiences not to.

You were at Bothene....or whatever it was called.
When I use to go there, as a kid, we use to say it was haunted to.
I use to love Mother Daughter weekends there.

(sorry discovered you this week, and I am catching up on all your posts)
BTW I live in Petaluma.
