Our wonderful Hostess this week is Penny, who has her pants on fire. Her assignment is the following:
Let's hear about your favorite “Birthday”, it needn’t be your actual birthday just a "birthday" celebration. You can use one you planned, one you attended, one you crashed, just a fun time for this FUN MONDAY
As most of you know, for the past several years I have spent my birthday in the forest. These have been my best birthdays celebrations. I will wake to the birds chirping in the trees and the wonderful scent of the forest. My husband will have the coffee boiling and pancakes cooking on the griddle. After breakfast I will open my cards and gifts. My cards are always handmade by my children. My gifts are usually gag gifts.
There is a story behind the Butt Paste, I will save it for its own post!
After breakfast we usually go on a hike. Sometimes we run into town and purchase a birthday cake, sometimes we don't. All in all, it is a wonderful day spent with my family.

Sounds like a perfect day to me. And I bet the daft prezzies are fun. Sometimes we just spend far too much on the gifts and not enough on the fun.
That sounds like a marvelous way to celebrate being on Earth!
What a fun tradition to celebrate your birthdays in the woods with family … doing something you all enjoy, and I can hardly wait for the story behind the Butt Paste ;--)

Ha ha deer poop I remember buying 'moose poop' for my grandson when I was in Canada. Can't wait to hear about the 'butt paste'!
I can't say I've ever received Butt Paste as a gag gift but it works wonders on diaper rash!! :)

I do remember a previous post where you described celebrating birthdays in the woods--heavenly. How long do we have to wait for the butt past story?

Sounds like fun I like camping although would be hard to do for mine since my birthday is in January and we live in Alaska....

That's a special birthday celebration, I would like that too, except pancakes in the morning, lol ! I can't eat anything early mornings.
It sounds wonderful, for me a perfect birthday would definetly be a family day. Now that is everything i could ask for
I know you! You run around the forest and try to put butt paste on deer! After eating the poop of course. :)
It's really about the EXPERIENCE, isn't it? Not the gifts... I try hard with this at Christmas... try to DO something cool as a family, as opposed to just buying stuff that will clutter up the house. I also really love homemade gifts. It's the thought that counts and all that. And yes, I am interested in the thought behind the butt paste. :)
