Fun Monday

Our gracious hostess with mostess this week is Ann. Thank you so much Ann for hosting.

Her assignment is the following:

I want to hear about a web site and not just about any old web site. I want to hear about a web site that's changed your life. A web site that you can't live without. A web site whose inventor you'd like to see win a McArthur Genius Grant. Maybe you want to sing the praises of a dating web site for helping you meet your spouse. Maybe the only thing getting you through the dark days of winter is an Internet comic. No story is too big, no story is too small - I want to hear it all on Monday.

Well, I have thought and thought about this all week and I could not think of any website that has changed my life. The only thing I could think of is all the blogs I visit, which in turn led me to starting my own blog. This blog has been very therapeutic for me. When I sit down to write, the words just pour out of me. I am becoming a calmer, more peaceful person because of my writing. I look at the world with new eyesight and I am becoming more grateful for my life and the people in it. So I guess all of you bloggers reading this have changed my life. Wow!!

With that being said, I do have 2 non blog websites that I visit regularly and I would have a hard time doing without.

The first is Amazon. I am a voracious reader and I have an obsession with books. The more the merrier. I have about 20 or more books piled on my nightstand waiting to be read and I buy more books regularly!

The second is the English Premier League. I am a huge soccer fan, the real football. I love, love, love watching the English league the best. My favorite team is Manchester United. We have cable on our TV just so we can get the Fox Soccer Channel so I can watch soccer on the weekends.

Now head on over to Ann's place to see the huge list of other Fun Monday players and visit their sites.

One year I bought all our Christmas gifts on Amazon. It was such a wonderful holiday that year. No crowds.

I think Amazon bought out my favorite book web site called "half-price" dot com.

I visit Amazon a lot too!!!! It certainly has changed my lifeSTYLE by being able to 'shop til I drop' in a whole different way.

Happy Fun Monday my friend!!!

Ah-h yes, Amazon. I love that river. Plan to float it someday.
Is football soccer or is soccer football?

I forgot amazon on mine. Soccer is the real football? Ok, I don't really care for either, but I am WAITING for Beckham to play already ;)

soccer? soccer?

Can we have just a moment of silence for the 'boys?

I do love me some Amazon, though.

When I was in GE, I was addicted to Amazon. I was probably addicted in NYC too. I had to break my addiction. It's tough visiting Amazon and NOT buying anything.
Woo hoo for blogs!!

I am an Amazon addict. I started buying my many books there, and then graduated to music and housewares and toys and . . .

I also liked half dot com, back in the day. It was a great site.

I really enjoyed your post. Blogging has been great for me also. I 1st started my blog for only homeschool and my personal journal. Which some can tell it has evolved from that. I have started a new blog for our homeschool just for the kids, mainly for my oldest to learn computer concepts. Plus, now that I have got to know so many great people I don't feel comfortable to put some of my more personal stuff on there. I have thought of making a private blog for I will be able to get my feelings out without being judged. Don't get me wrong, I love blogging and meeting new people and never thought I would meet so many neat people, but to keep my husband or other finding my journal/diary I may need to make a private one. I do agree with your post 100%
Okay, I shut up!

"Fun Monday." Haven't heard of this one yet. Amazon is one of my favs too and I too am a book fiend. I just tend to set all my books around me and don't open them nearly enough!

Another lover of Amazon here.

My ex and both of my brothers played soccer from the time they were wee boys so I've seen more soccer (live and on TV) than I care to think about. I still don't understand all of the rules though!

I think between Blogger and Amazon, you've definitely picked a couple of life-changing ones! I never thought to pick blogger - what a GREAT choice.

yay for the life-altering aspects of blogging.

(and yay for amazon, my home away from home!)

I agree with you about Amazon~ I bet it's one of the most used for online buying. I can pass on the football as I am not a fan and it is forever on out TV~ which is one reason I love blogging I can ignore it (I'll probably be lynched for saying this!

Hi Alison,

Thank you for the very sweet comment you left for me. I feel the same way about you.

Since I am a bit computer illiterate, I wasn't sure how I would send you the link to that post without an email. Let me know what the best way to do it would be. I could just give you the date that I posted it if that is the easiest way to do it.

Hugs,
Debbie

I agree with you on amazon--I also love the fact that you can get second hand out of print books! I just wish soccer was more liked here in the states!

I love Amazon, it's such a great site and I too have lots of books on my night table waiting for me! Man U haven't been the same since David left :(

Ditto on the Amazon. My kids played soccer, usually in the pouring rain. I'm glad you like it. I'm more of a football fan, I guess.

I love amazon. Where else can I buy my books for a couple of bucks and still get the thrill of waiting for something in the mail?
