I found this little guy last night in my garden. I was walking home from my neighbor's house when I happened to glance up at just the right moment to see him. He is gorgeous and his web is huge. I quickly called out to my family and we all admired him for a few moments. We stared at him while he stared back at us.
Have you ever watched a spider build his web? Many years ago Dave and I had the privilege of watching a web creation. It is truly a scientific marvel. I love spiders, as long as they are in my garden....I don't much like them in my house. I feel the same way about ants and mice.

we HAD an awesome spider living on an amazing web on our front porch for about 2 weeks. THEN the gardener knocked his home down. We are hoping he is building a new one soon that we can watch.
sooo fascinating.
Absolutely LOVE watching spiders...but mice, uh, no thanks!!!
I enjoy watching the spiders in my yard build nests and try to avoid walking into them inadvertently. I’m not much for watching mice … though ants can be fascinating … as can the lizards that live in the rocks in my front yard (as long as they don’t decide to enter the house).
Hugs and blessings,
Hello from a fellow spider watcher... amazing creatures. Thanks so much for asking about my father. He's been sick this week -- will have his 4th (and final) round of chemo Monday. It's such a rollercoaster experience, as I'm sure you know after going through this with your friend earlier this year. I've enjoyed Cassie's presence on your blog. Take care - xxoo
Absolutely beautiful! Yes I have seen a spider weaving its web before, its quite fascinating! Nature is a most wonderful thing to watch!
I feel the same way about those creatures. We'll get along fine just as long as they stay out of my house!
yes, it amazes me how beautiful their webs are and how they spin these things every night. I have a spider on my porch. He makes the most beautiful web at night and in the morning it is always gone and it is back again in the evening!
