Our wonderful hostess this week is my good blogging friend Heather and here is her assignment:
The topic: Sports. More specifically, the sports team that you are rabid about. Maybe you love the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe you never miss a Cincinnati Reds game. Perhaps you follow every goal of the Fighting Illini Water Polo team. Or maybe nobody can tear you away from a Manchester United game. I want to hear about whatever sports team(s) that make you cry tears of joy when they win and tears of sorrow when they lose.
I am not much of an American sports fan but I LOVE the real football...also known as English soccer. I can watch American soccer, but I prefer the English Premier League. My favorite team is Manchester United. I have been known to set my alarm clock in the wee morning hours to watch a live game. Most weekends I try and watch the game or I will catch a rerun of it during the week. My favorite player is Wayne Rooney, if fact our orange tabby cat is named Rooney after him!!
Don't forget to check out the post below to see what we did yesterday!!!
Happy Monday!!!!

So … is this like ‘soccer’ ??? My sister’s oldest son (who will be 30 this year) LOVES to play (and watch) Soccer … has since he was about 4 when he first started to play the game himself.
Hugs and blessings,
Who would have thought a nice American lass as yourself would be an English "football" fan? I love it! When we lived there my brothers loved watching the English teams play - I'm not sure who their favorite was anymore. I will have to ask them next time I see them.
Thanks for playing this week, Alison!
I am amazed that you follow Man U, that's also my grand daughter's favourite team!
Ha, that is a great name for your cat! :-) Happy Monday!
That is one serious fan to go naming household pets after your special sportstar!
Thanks for sharing.
Soccer can be fun to watch.
Really, you set an alarm to get up early to watch sports? Amazing!
That's amazing. I want you to read "Among the Thugs", by Bill Buford, another fave sports book of mine, before you ever decide to go across the pond and attend one of their matches.
I like your "Team Pink"...thank you and you know why, my friend.
Wow ! what a surprise an American FOOTBALL fan(I mean the real ! played with the feet, lol) !! I don't know why it is called soccer, the rest of the world says "football"
Seems like Manchester United is a favorite for a lot of people! They are the only team I've ever heard of - but so often. I wonder if soccer will ever become as popular here as it is in the rest of the world.
I'm not big on scoccer, but can see where it could be fun. I haven't watched it enough to know much about it. I did love your post below. I use to run in those races all the time, but too fat and out of shape now. LOL!
