Fun Monday

Our wonderful Hostess this week is WoodlandMama and her assignment is:

to write the 1st paragraph of an unusual love story. I admit it was hard, but I am look forward to seeing the results.

I am so sorry WoodlandMama but I must break the rules this week. All my creative juices are being sucked up by making school lunches and nightly homework battles with my son. Alas, I will not leave you empty handed....so....last week I had a number of people ask me the same question regarding my FM post. I thought I would answer your burning question this week...

What is in the aquariums in the corner??

As you can see by the picture we have 3 aquariums in the corner. One of them houses our fish, nothing fancy, just some goldfish. We tried raising fancy fish, but they always died so we have resorted to plain old goldfish!!

The next aquarium houses Sammy our corn snake. We acquired him last March and he is still a baby. He will probably grow to about 3-4 feet in length.

Isn't his coloring gorgeous?? I love his red eyes. He is very tame and likes to be held. He will wrap himself around your wrist and is very content there.

The last aquarium houses Leo our leopard gecko. He came to live with us a year ago last February. He is full grown now and is also very tame.

His favorite place to "ride" in on your head especially if you are wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He will crawl up there and just his head will be sticking out watching everything. I don't know if you can see that hole behind his eye but that is his ear. Because their brain sits in front of their ears you can see all the way through the hole and out the other side.

So there you have it....not quite a romantic love story...but a story nonetheless!!!

For more romance head on over to WoodlandMama's site....

Now that was far more entertaining than any love story Ive ever heard! Im not too keen on snakes for some reason but I LOVE that lizard! Ive always wanted one but thus far never acquired one myself!

Cassies pressie is finally on its way! I hope its not too babyish for her but if she likes fairies as much as us she should get a kick out of it anyway! I also threw in some shell earrings! I don't think I ever mentioned I really LOVE shells too! Anyway hope she likes it!

I am so glad you answered my question. And sharing what lies/lives in them! It's a love story of a different sort. None the less ---love for all creatures, great and small.

Mine's posted. Stop by if you can...it's all about Sarah and Jake!!

And P S ---homework battles? Boy I remember that story too. From long ago. But keep heart and work with him...he'll become a PhD before you know it.

yikes! You have quite the zoo! We have lots of animals too, but all are the 4 footed, non lizard type ;0)

I love the gecko they used to run about our walls in Mexico. The snake just makes my skin crawl though even if he is tiny :)

What a sweet little guy. I love the pebbly texture of his skin.

ACCCKKK! "I don't like spiders and snakes..."

My girls never brought things like this into the house.
So glad someone else breaks the Fun Monday rules every once in a while.

I'd love to see a picture of your lizard in the hoodie sometime. That sounds too cute!

The lizard is cute. The snake? Scary!

I think there's plenty of love in your story. Good one.

Reptiles are nice! As long as they stay in the acquarium.

Thank you for the read.

Sorry, I just can't share a home with a lizard AND a snake. Two of us would have to go. :)

Like you … I took a different route this morning at Small Reflections when ‘the muse’ failed me, but I did enjoy finding out what dwells in those aquariums. Reminds me how I lived with a ‘tarantula’ in an aquarium TWICE in my life time.
Hugs and blessings,

Thanks for sharing what's in your aquariums.

Sammy and Leo are adorable!

And it's nice to know I'm not the only one with fish, and snakes, and geckos.

Well Swampangel would be in love. With both sammy and leo.

Oh you can keep the snake but I love your gecko!!

I have a friend who keeps the most beautiful collection of fish in her upstairs office/retreat. She says she spends hours feeding and watching them. Your corn snake is like cats for me. Admire their beauty but can't live with them!

How lucky are your children!!

Wow, love those critters! My son Eric would be thrilled to visit. He could bring over his turtle Rosco to add to the mix. As for love stories, haven't you already written at least two? I'm thinking your adoption journey stories definitely count, even if they are probably not what woodland mama had in mind. Happy day to you! xxoo

Now those are seriously cool pets.

If you'd had a spider, I would've quickly navigated away from this page.

Snakes I can handle.

I don't mind looking at them from afar but would not want to get up close and personal LOL
