First Communion Weekend

Michael made his First Holy Communion this past weekend. He was so handsome in his suit. He was also very proud of himself, he stood very tall and was just beaming.

The above and below photos were taken before the Mass.

I got tears in my eyes when the children started processing in. When I saw Michael carrying the banner the tears increased. He did a very good job!!

He was so excited to finally be able to receive Communion........I was so proud of him!!

We had a lovely party after the Mass. We had about 30 friends and family members over to the house for dinner. It was wonderful, a good time had by all. Michael was fortunate enough to receive quite a bit of money in gifts. The next day he bought a bike, he was very excited!!

Congratulations Michael! You look very handsome in your suit! This sure takes me back a few years! I remember feeling very grown up and special in my white dress, but that was a very long time ago, back in the olden days! LOL

These days I would not be able to sit still long enough.

Congrats to your son! The pictures are great and your son is so cute! I love your posts! Sorry I have not been blogging lately! I have been taping shows. What was I thinking?? Hah! Maybe it is a good thing I wasn't thinking! If you get a minute, check it out. I'd love to hear what you think. I am inviting all my blog friends over for feedback. http://www.dishingwithdebbie.com Your stories are great and my whole idea behind this show is for other moms to share real stories like you do. Sponsors are donating neat prizes like chocolate baskets and mini-chef aprons and way cool cookery stuff. Anyway, I'd love to hear from you.

Congratulations Michael! Our First Communion party is Sunday, after the mass. Our home sure has been a religious çircus'the past weeks. Yesterday was Kaeden's Confirmation, Sunday Jari's 1st Communion...and all those classes and practices and...yep, Jesus is abound!

How fun is a new bike? Enjoy! :-)

Congrats to your son on his First Communion! It really is a very special event in one's church life.
When I was growing up, our church didn't allow communion until you made your confirmation but over the years, they changed that and my children all made their first communion at about age 9-10 years old. I remember too watching them with such pride at those services and again, when they were confirmed several years later as well. I'm looking forward in a few years from now to seeing my little granddaughter, Maya, as well as her baby brother too, eventually take these same steps in forging their spiritual life.

Oh my gosh! this is such a great moment. I was crying right along with you because I know how important things like this are. You are rearing him up to believe in God and Christ. Beliefs that will ground him and see him through some of his hardest times when no one else can! How nice that he was able to celebrate with friends and family at your home!
