Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful that my son is better and is back to school. I am also thankful that my daughter did not get the stomach flu YET!!


I am thankful that my mom is healing so well and is being a great patient!!


I am thankful that I am close with my inlaws and can be a source of support for my mother in law right now. Their lives just got more complicated and they both need our help and support right now.


I am also thankful that this is my 100th post!!! What a perfect post to be the 100th....a gratitude post...how wonderful!!!

Thankful Thursday

I don't know who is hosting this week...maybe Julie?? But I definitely wanted to participate...so here is my dose of gratitude....


Today I am grateful for my girlfriends....from my very bestest- ever friend, to my newest girlfriends and my newest bloggy girlfriends. I feel so honored to call some wonderful woman friends....to laugh with, to cry with and everything in between. My relationships with my girlfriends are very important to me and I value our friendships. I am emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthier because of my girlfriends.


Tonight my husband and I were talking about this subject. He thinks it is more important for woman to have these relationships than it is for men, especially as we "mature" because our husbands stop listening to us!!! I had to laugh..he may be partially right....but I don't care.....I love my girlfriends....you bring light into my life.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for a very special moment in my life. Eight years ago today I was very fortunate to witness a brave young woman give birth to a beautiful baby boy. She then placed him in my arms and said to me - "Say hello to your son". She gave me a tremendous gift and I will be eternally grateful to her.....Happy Birthday Michael...my sweet little boy, my special Valentine!

Thankful Thursday

Another Thankful Thursday compliments of Another Chance Ranch!

Today I am thankful that my children are feeling better and are back to school, which means I don't have to take any more days off. I only work part time and I don't get paid for time off....so unexpected days off really hurt on payday!!

I am also thankful for the fact that I can take my dogs for a walk and come home in a better frame of mind than before I walked. I am also thankful I recognize this and opt for the walk rather than stewing in my own garbage mind!

Most of all, I am thankful that our family is able to have conversations like this during dinner:

We were talking about what we were going to give up for Lent this year. The conversation was part serious and part humorous. My husband said - "I am going to give up yelling at Mommy for Lent." My son looked at him and said - "But Daddy, you never yell at Mommy." He is right and I am ever so grateful to live in a home filled with peace and love.

Thankful Thursday

Our host for this week's festivities is Lois. Thank you very much for hosting Lois.

This week I am thankful for the sun shine. After days and days of rain, it is so beautiful to look outside and see the sun. The sky is a beautiful shade of blue and the air is clean, clear, and cold!!! I hope to enjoy every minute of the sun's rays and warmth!

I am also thankful for the pain and emotions I felt this week over our Zack. This means that I have the capability of loving deeply and being loved back. This is a gift.

Thankful Thursday

Julie over at Another Chance Ranch is hosting Thankful Thursday again this week. She would like us to write about something we are thankful for. I love this idea. It reminds us to focus on the positive instead of the negatives. On days like today, this task seems very daunting!

I have thought about this all day...and I am not feeling it at all. The usual crap went through my mind...a house, mine and my family's health, my job....yada, yada!! Nothing really grabbed me today. I have had a rough week with my children and The Dreaded Homework Woes and I am PMS'ing in a bad way.

So today I am thankful that Julie had this wonderful idea and I decided to participate in it. I need to think about the positives on days like today, because I can easily get mired in the negatives.

I am also thankful for bedtime right now!! The kids are in bed and the house is peaceful. The heater is on, keeping us warm and toasty, I have a nice cup of decaf coffee I am sipping on, my husband is watching basketball on TV, and the dogs are snoozing on their beds. Our day is coming to a close and I am very grateful for that. Tomorrow will be a new day, and a better one!

Thankful Thursday

Count me in!! So here is my debut Thankful Thursday post.

Today I am thankful for my husband. He is a wonderful man but some days he just shines. Last night I came home from work and he was making dinner. Both children had completed their homework. He had a load of laundry in the washer and he folded the load from the dryer. But the one thing that brought tears to my eyes.....he had picked up all the dog poop from the backyard AND washed down the deck! That means that I don't have to do that gross job today on my day off!!

That makes my Thursday very Thankful!!
