Our wonderful hostess with the mostess this week is Mommy Wizdom and here is her assignment:
Your job this week is to go out and perform a random act of kindness. Now, before you freak out, please read on. This is actually really easy!! This act may be for someone you know or for a perfect stranger. It can be big or small, it'll all up to you. Obviously, it should be something within your means. For instance, don't go out and buy your next door neighbor a car and then complain to me that you can't make your mortgage payment, ok?
Great assignment Mommy Wizdom, especially at this time of year!! I can't wait to read all the posts.
I did not buy my neighbor a car, but I did let them know of one for sale and they purchased it!! Seriously, I try to do Random Acts of Kindness on a regular basis. I am a Girl Scout Leader and our troop is constantly doing community service projects. Their latest one was adopting a family for Thanksgiving. We were able to deliver the food and gifts they purchased directly to the family, it was a very heartwarming day. The family was extremely appreciative and the girls loved it, especially playing with the children in the family.
We also do Random Acts of Kindness within our family. We regularly thank each other for cooking, cleaning up, etc. Dave and I are very polite to each other and our children model our behavior. Every night my family thanks me for cooking, it is the little things that mean so much and add up.
Today we crossed a bridge and paid a toll. We paid for the car behind us. Our children were very excited about this and couldn't wait for the car to pass us so they could wave to them. We routinely are polite to waitresses/waiters, shopkeepers, and other "strangers" we come in contact with.
You give a smile you get one in return....you give off negative vibes, they bounce right back to you.
Spread the love!!!

How fun for the kids to be excited about paying the toll! When I was getting teh gifts ready for the family my Bible study adopted for Christmas, my kids were asking questions about what we were doing. So I told them that if they wanted, they could donate some of their money, too. And I left with an extra $2.35 to donate towards the family's main course! I agree, spreading the love makes others want to as well.
nice how you included the kids
:) to you
Hey, I like that thanking each other for things done around the house... so often I feel like being a mommy is a thankless job...
But, anyway, that's for a different post, Lol.
That is so awesome that your kids were excited about giving. It is important to teach those life lessons early.
Thanks for playing along.
Have a great week!
You know I love you! What else can I say? Thanks for being you! You are just lovely! Hugs and smoochies xxxxx
Whoa....
I wasn't aware they still made people like ya'll!! :)
You're a perfect model, Alison!
Nothing like sending good vibes into the world!
You are so right about being nice, its contagious. How refreshing to hear of children being polite these days. Our grandchildren are polite and we thank the parents for teaching them. You and your Hubby are doing a great job of raising your kids.
We occasionally buy coffee for the person behind us at Starbucks. :)
Alison, Mr. Linky was down but now the list is back up!
Come check it out... thanks!
I like to be sure my daughter is included in RAK's too - kids do learn from what they see. I love the toll idea, but with FastLane it doesn't work anymore:)
you are great role models for the most important people in the world... your kids. nice post!
Thanks for raising future kind people. The world needs all it can get!
I think you are doing a great job.
Your last sentence is very true !!
So true! You're setting a wonderful example for your kids. Good for you..and great choices on RAK's.
Oh Alison you do inspire me, you're the kind of Mum I want to be!
